First, it is an episode of a series released on the Greensleevs label featuring the mixing skills of one Overton Brown, a young prodigy and pupil of none other than King Tubby's, the Godfather of DUB.

We know him as the Scientist. Yours truly came to know his work through the first track of this album, a great Dub from a Johnny Osbourne track called "Love is Universal".

But that's not the real historical aspect, even though Scientist can be seen as a genius in the line of many prodigies we came to learn throughout history. People with an extraordinary talent.

No, it's about the series itself.

All Scientist's albums in the Greensleeves series had a specific theme. "Scientist Encounters Pac Man", "Meets the Space Invaders", et cetera. The titles of the superb DUB tracks were all related to the theme, too.

This gave DUB an extra dimension. For the art of DUB is to transform a multi track recording into a psychedelic journey to the unknown realms of our fantasies, just like comic books and other forms of art.

And that is exactly what happens on this album. Even without the extra tracks, it would we worth considering to buy.
