There's
two different products with the same title,
which may be a little bit confusing.
But that's because DRUMDROPS sells two
different products: SAMPLE DVD-ROMs and
MULTI-TRACK DVD-ROMs.
The first product-line has over 400
sounds, loops and breaks. The second is a
DOUBLE Multi-Track DVD-ROM with 24 complete
drumlines.
Yes, say goodbye to the Sample CD. For a
DVD can carry several gigabytes. And only
one DRUMDROP DVD contains enough material to
keep the productions flowing out of your
studio for several years to come.
DRUMDROPS.com doesn't bring you
"just" an enormous quantity, when
compared to a standard CD-ROM. They actually
make use of the high storage facilities to
deliver a brand new type of product.
But before we go into the two separate
products, let's take a closer look at
DRUMDROPS IN DUB VOLUME ONE as a whole.
The drums are played by Style Scott (Roots
Radics), while Tuca Rainbow and Norman
Grant (Twinkle Brothers) provide the
percussion.
Everything is recorded in Jamaican and
UK-based studio's. Yes, CHANNEL ONE is among
them. For, as you obviously know, it was
this studio that had the ROOTS RADICS as
it's "house-band".
Obviously, when the drums and percussion
are recorded in these legendary studio's,
in-house equipment is used to record the
material. And so it is.
Some of the material is even taken
directly from the Channel One Archives. This
means, that the recordings actually took
place in the 1980's and is used in releases
from that period as well.
This is as authentic as authentic can be.
As far as the drums and recording of the
drums is concerned, that is. But these drums
are so inspiring that the basslines will be
easy to find.
The percussion is so versatile, that you
can create completely different tracks by
simply adding one or two specific percussion
tracks.
The rhythms even come with different
atmospheric effects which you can add (or
leave out).
Let's examine the DRUMS, the PERCUSSION
and the SOUNDS.
