DON
GOLIATH - ROOTSSTEP TO THE WORLD CHAPTER 24
DUBROOM
ALBUM REVIEW |
| WWW,
July 2014 - Yes, it could be that you missed
the
Dubroom's interview with and review of DON
GOLIATH and his unique sound called
ROOTSSTEP with links to volumes 1-23 of his
ROOTSSTEP TO THE WORLD series. It could
be, but it shouldn't given you just had the
link provided. Well, you can read on too and
check the link later for that's a thing you
simply just want to do. Introducing the 24th
Chapter of Don Goliath's excellent series
and this time he brings U Roy, Wayne Mc
Arthur. Victor Tebebe and Princess Black Inna
Rootsstep Style!
It's truly
incredible to see just what Don Goliath has
produced just the last 1 1/2 year or so. In
spite of his name, this one Goliath has
nothing against Jah and even more, he is
active in spreading JAH Music into this next
century and generations with his unique
sound. It's a sound that many will say is
"Dub Step" and not just because of
the four-letter word in the term Roots Step.
However, this is Reggae and it is even Roots
Reggae.

BRYAN
ART - FRESH START
DUBROOM
EP REVIEW |
| WWW,
July 2014 - The first thing you should
avoid is to take the title of this EP
serious. You should take the name Bryan Art
serious, though, and the four excellent
musical works of this release even more. Why? Well, that's
the four dollar question you will see
answered in this review of Fresh Start, the
EP.
First, the music. Four excellent
contemporary Jamaican Roots Reggae tracks,
perfectly recorded into the multitrack by
Bryan Art's FILE13 Band. This is the kind of
Roots Reggae that counters the slackness and
emptiness that is the majority of (Jamaican)
Dancehall. This is the kind of Jamaican
Music that brings blessings to the whole
world.

AYSHA
LOREN - KEEP IT LIKE IT IS
DUBROOM
SINGLE REVIEW |
| WWW,
June 2014 - She's been involved somehow
with "Destiny's Child" back in the
days, but since this is a thing that is
completely irrelevant for the promotion of
(DUB) Reggae let's deal with what is. After
she's livicated time to be with her family,
trained and skillful singer Aysha Loren is
now working with John Holt, Frankie Paul and
even Luciano while she has just released
what can only be described as a true,
authentic Lovers' Rock track called
"Keep it Like it Is". Yes, please
do!
Lovers' Rock is that other side of UK
Reggae which may have nothing to do with
heavyweight Roots and Dubwise but is
nevertheless very much a part of the many
styles the big island in front of the
European continent has provided the world
with. Lovers' Rock: Smooth and silky, yet
with a tight riddim or skank section (the
guitars etc) and a solid drum and bass line.
In other words: Reggae for lovers. Nothing
to do with Dancehall and it's outbursts,
just niceness and a very pleasant rhythm.

DONE
FE - JERICHO 12''
DUBROOM
VINYL REVIEW |
| WWW,
April 2014 - The first batch of vinyl
was sold out quite easily, and not without
reason: here are four tracks by the great
producer DON FE by Steppas Records and they
have a story to come with the music!
The
opening, "Jericho" has server as
an exclusive for the well known Channel One
Sound System for quite a while. They've used
the tune during festivals like Nottinghill
Carnival, a highly popular event for the
lovers of Roots Reggae Music. Listening to
the tune, you can imagine it going through
the speakers of one of the best Sound
Systems and shaking the place.

JOE FERRY - CONNECTED: MOB STORIES &
REGGAE RIDDIMS
DUBROOM
VINYL REVIEW |
| WWW,
April 2014 - He won a Grammy award
multiple times, and that's just for his
musical works. His teaching and writing
skills have not gone unnoticed either.
Talking about Joe Ferry, dr. Joe Ferry:
widely acclaimed bass player and record
producer as well as talented writer. But
this is about the music. Music with King
Tubby and Augustus Pablo to be precise.

December 2009 - If only because of
African Anthem alone this album should be
considered a clasic, but the fact that this
is the Deluxe edition makes this another
must-have for every self-respecting
