THE TWO DVD-ROM'S
DRUMDROPS
IN DUB provides you with the very same
recording that you would have if Style Scott
would play his Drums for you at CHANNEL ONE
and other studio's.
And you won't get Style Scott in your
studio for 200 pounds to play that much
material for you, that's a fact.
DRUMDROPS.com managed to keep the price
of each product very low. For £99 you'll
get a DVD with much more material than a
CDROM can ever carry. But the price is lower
then most of the CDROMS which are out there!
The two different products that carry the
name DRUMDROPS IN DUB VOLUME ONE each have
their own specific purpose.
With the MULTI-TRACK DVD-ROM you will get
full-length drumlines as Style Scott felt it
at that particular moment.
The SAMPLE DVD-ROM enables you to
construct your own rhythm using the building
blocks on the disc.
SAMPLE DVD-ROM
This is the collection of drum sounds, beats
and breaks that everybody in the Online DUB
Community is waiting for.
The SAMPLE DVD-ROM provides you with
almost 40 different collections or tracks
of loops.
The tracks are nicely structured and
contains the Drums, percussion, FX and DUB
tracks.
The loops vary in length. From a few
measures to almost a quarter of a full
length track, it's all there.
Every loop is different in itself, too.
They're all variations of the main rhythm
and many come with a roll, too. Rolls that
you'll instantly remember from these great
Roots Radics riddims from Channel
One.
Even when you have a simple audio editing
program, the loops can be used. They all end
a little bit later as they should, and they
start a little bit later too. But by using
cut-and-paste actions alone, it's very easy
to construct your own drum track from the
loops.
And, it can't be said enough, every loop
comes with one or more percussion elements
which you can add to the rhythm.
A great feature, which will be
appriciloved by those who are into
computer-based DUB production, is the fact
that the SAMPLE DVD-ROM has all the sounds
in RX2 format too! Many of today's
computer-based DUB producers use the
software REASON, which uses this particular
format.
The REX files contain the exact tempo
information for the sequencer that drives
the Dr. Rex loop player in REASON.
And for those who use different
sequencers, the SAMPLE DVD-ROM com has
midifiles with the tempo-information too.
You'll have to follow the DRUMDROPS BPM
setting with that, though...
And not everybody may like the DRUMDROPS
BPM indicators. Which is about the only
disadvantage one can find.
But a significant one nevertheless. For
it could mean that you can not use any of
the tempo information on this (and the
other) DVD-ROM...
However, the rhythms are so good, when
you know how to make a riddim this
won't really be any problem. For all the
rhythms deserve to be used as foundation for
new stuff!
